About NextGenSMS

Reliable SMS infrastructure, built in South Africa since 2013.

NextGenSMS is the bulk-SMS white-label service operated by MComm Technologies. We started by sending restaurant specials to NOKIA 5110s, and today we power transactional, marketing and machine-to-machine SMS for security firms, retailers, ISPs and developers across the SADC region.

Story

From takeaway specials to national infrastructure.

MComm Technologies began as a Bulk SMS reseller, with its first customers being restaurants and takeaways using SMS for weekly specials. Today our SMS business primarily serves security companies (both IT and armed response) in the SADC region — but the team still answers the phone like a small business.

NextGenSMS is the public face of that SMS platform. We expose the same gateway our parent company has used internally for over a decade — polished, well-documented, and on a per-SMS price that scales with your volume.

Every account, every send, every credit sits on the same MComm backbone. That's why we can offer 25c per SMS at low volume and 16c per SMS at national scale — without ever changing the underlying quality of the route.

Founder

Built by operators, for operators.

Our founder, Mel Mtintsilana, started MComm Technologies to help African SMEs cut communication costs without compromising on quality. The business started with a single bulk-SMS bundle and grew into a full-stack telecoms, hosting and AI services group — but SMS is still in the DNA.

"Attitude, gratitude and servitude are the gateways to success." That phrase lives on the MComm Technologies wall — and it's the bar we hold ourselves to every time you message us, whether through the API, the portal, or a direct phone call.

Journey

A decade on the same gateway.

The NextGenSMS platform you sign up for today is the same one our earliest customers used in 2013 — same operational backbone, same South African route providers, same WASPA-aligned opt-in model. We've just polished the edges.
